Fuse is keen to link with everyone working to improve the health and wellbeing of the population, whether you are an academic, or a policy and practice partner from health, local authority or a third sector organisation.

Our associate membership is for people who are involved in public health and keen to get the best evidence into policy and practice to improve health and wellbeing. If that sounds like you, then joining us as an associate can bring you:

  • Prestige of being part of a national Public Health Research Centre of Excellence and permission to use Fuse’s name and logo in your research work

  • Access to the advice and support of a large, multidisciplinary network of leading experts in public health research including academics and policy and practice partners

  • Access to development opportunities such as collaboration on research projects and informal peer-review from Fuse members for your research at both grant writing and publication stages

  • Access to research training opportunities, conferences, workshops, seminars.

We welcome applications from:

  • Members of staff or postgraduate research students from the five universities in North East England (Durham, Sunderland Teesside, Newcastle and Northumbria) with a research interest in public health and wellbeing or knowledge exchange.

  • Members of staff in North East organisations (local government, NHS or voluntary organisation for example) which improve public health and wellbeing or focus on knowledge exchange or translation of research evidence.
